Jazz at Cockpit
The Kora Quartet Kora Williams/Luke Purbrick
Joni Mitchell Covers & The Great American Songbook
Luke and Kora will be sharing an evening of songs from the American songbook as well as more contemporary tunes by Joni Mitchell, who inspires them to write their own, some of which they’ll be sharing too. Luke takes inspiration from jazz guitar players such as Bill Frisell and Jim Hall and Kora loves all of the great jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. Joining them in the rhythm section are the wonderful Carter Harris on drums and Samuel Hollis on double bass, two musicians who Kora and Luke have met and played with at Trinity Laban, where they’re studying.
