A conversation exploring collaboration and creative reuse, chaired by Emily Chan, writer and Contributing Sustainability Editor at Vogue.
For the latest TOAST Renewed By collection, British fashion designer and Cockpit maker, Bethany Williams has used remnant fabrics and archive pieces to create a selection of one-of-a-kind garments.
“Rethinking a second or third life for a garment or textile can be radical and uplifting,” says TOAST Creative Director Laura Shippey. “We are exploring possibilities and our collaborators create unique pieces of great beauty. The value of the original material has been transformed through the ingenuity of the creative treatment into something I hope will inspire others.”
Join us for a panel discussion exploring the value of creative collaboration and the different approaches that bring ideas, perspectives, and people together.
TOAST Brand Director Rose McKissock will open the talk, and sustainability editor and consultant Emily Chan will moderate. Completing the panel are artist and designer Bethany Williams, who has created our latest Renewed By collection, sustainability activist Aja Barber, and TOAST North America Marketing Manager Madeleine Michell.
The panel will explore forms of collective making, skill sharing, and the use and reuse of materials. Before the conversation begins, enjoy seasonal refreshments in the verdant surrounds of the Barbican conservatory.
